heat boils in hair portion on head

Dear Patient: Yes,diabetic people do suffer with more number of furuncles,heat boils,controlling diabeties is the most important part of the treatment.
Apart from that keeping the scalp oil free by washing the hair everyday ,preferably with cephalosporin and ornidazole medicated shampoo helps further.
Controlled levels of diabetis are fasting blood sugar levels below 120,and post prandial below 200.
So,make sure that she is using insulin to maintain them that way ,if she is not yet using insulin.
There is a misconception that using insulin could make the disease prone to be more insulin dependent,but no it doesn't,so she can move on to insulin if the sugar levels are not under control with oral diabetic drugs.Take care.
