Dear Patient: Yes, keratoconus is a disabling condition which impairs our acuity of vision. As you have stated that you were able to see normally with spectacles, but the problem is resurfacing again now. So, this is such a condition where your vision changes most often as age advances; by this I mean that some times vision may improve or diminish depending on the curvature of your cornea. So first step is getting your visual acuity checked by any ophthalmologist. Depending on the change(+ or-) he will prescribe you a new set of spects. Frequent check ups atleast once a year will help you. Now there is LASER treatment by the name Lasik which is Laser insitu keratomileusis, where your cornea will be adjusted. It is almost a permanent solution to your problem. So consult a good ophthalmologist, preferably at any bigger facility like AIIMS or Safdarjung hospital, New Delhi. .
