Shoulder is a complex joint, we are understanding it more in the last two decades. Like super specialties in other fields like in general surgery, which has subdivided into urology, neurosurgery and cardiac surgery, orthopedics has also super specialized the world over, this is now happening in India and each joint  has many new techniques and we are understanding the problems better.

An orthopedic surgeon trained in shoulder surgery can assess the joint better and recommend accordingly.

If you have a pain in the shoulder, see a shoulder surgeon and not a general orthopedic surgeon for a correct advice. Most shoulder conditions can be treated by medications and correct type of therapy, but if the problem is badly managed it will come back to bite you later.
