Dr.Atul Mishra is skilled in a variety of complicated and advanced open abdominal and laparoscopic surgeries. He holds immense expertise in laparoscopic hernia surgery, Appendectomy, Splenectomy, Gall bladder stone surgery, Rectal prolapse repair, surgery of liver, pancreas, stomach, colon and rectum and VATS (Video Assisted thoracic surgery) . He is very capable in operating complex fistula in ano, pilonidal sinus (limberg flap), parotid thyroid and parathyroid surgery.

Dr. Atul Mishra is a very passionate and dedicated general surgeon in Ludhiana with over 20 years of experience in treating patients with surgical diseases. He has gained a vast experience working in leading hospitals of India, USA & UK. He has special interest in chest surgery. He is currently working as professor and Head of the Department of General Surgery at DMC&H, Ludhiana.

Dr. Mishra completed his MBBS and MS from King George Medical College, Lucknow and did his FRCS from Royal College of physicians and surgeons, Glasgow UK. He is also the fellow of Johns Hopkins University, USA. He has several certificates of honor to his credit. He is also the winner of the Best Performance Shield from the University of Hertfordshire UK .  

He has made several publications in well-reputed international and national journals. He has been an editorial reviewer in leading Journals.

He has been recognized on various platforms for being one among the few surgeons in India to perform VATS surgery. He is the first surgeon to start this procedure in the entire North India and has been doing this surgery since 2004. He has done more than 1500 VAT Surgeries till date. VATS (Thoracoscopy) is a keyhole surgery technique in which chest surgery is done by small cut using a telescope. He has been performing all the VATS procedures viz. lobectomy, Bullectomy, thymectomy, Pleurodesis, empyema surgery and more.

He has given several international guest lectures on VATS, hernia etc. in Baltimore USA, Singapore, Seoul, Honk Kong, Philippines etc. He has started VATS training program and participated in first all India VATS training workshop in Mumbai as a faculty member.

He has won many accolades as a best teacher in surgery.He has been successfully trained in advanced laparoscopic and complex abdominal surgery and ROBOTIC SURGERY from Johns Hopkins, Baltimore, USA.
