Gas and Acidity

Dear Doctor: ?

Dear Patient: Thank you for writing to Sehat.com

You may have GERD. GERD stands for Gastroesophageal Reflux disease. This disease causes a reflux of acid into the esophagus and causes it to damage the esophagus. The irritation to the esophagus will cause the burning sensation in the chest.

I recommend that you talk to a Gastric Surgeon and get him to diagnose you. To reach a diagnosis, a 24-hour pH test is done.

Post this, the Doctor will start you on antibiotic and antacid therapy.

Hope this helps you.
