Nephrotic syndrome?

Dear Doctor: ?

Dear Patient: Vitamin D daily requirements are 1000 to 2000 units per day. Vitamin D supplements are usually the inactive form. Our body stores it and uses it after its activation as necessary. I would recommend you take 2000 units daily in the winter months and 1000 units daily in the summer months. There are high strength supplements available as 60,000 units which you can take just once a month in winters and once every other month in summer. All abnormal tests are related to your kidney condition rather than vitamin D. Strongly advice discussing with your nephrologist.
