About
The Sri Aurobindo Seva Kendra is a Not-for-Profit hospital that is located in the heart of Kolkata. The hospital had its beginning in 1971 when it was founded by the late Dr. S.C. Dutt, the founder Chairman & Managing Director of the DC group of companies - but then it was known as EEDF (Economic Entrepreneurship Development Foundation) Health Centre . Dr. Dutt had a vision to provide health care services to the middle and lower middle class sections of society and to the employees of the DC group at an affordable rate and in a comfortable environment.
In its earlier days, the Health Centre was started from 3 rented houses in Jodhpur Park area and through a mobile medical van where doctors and nurses were present to take care of the patients. The premises were shifted to a new building in 1991 and was named Sri Aurobindo Seva Kendra.
The mission of the Sri Aurobindo Seva Kendra was to provide advanced medical care at affordable rates and committed to the key values of compassion, care and understanding. It also believed in making its services available to all strata of people, irrespective of economic background. The hospital offers excellent highly modernized facilities through the use of sophisticated technology, while the air-conditioned Out-Patient Department offers consultancy in over 35 disciplines.
