What does following PET-CT results mean???

Dear Doctor: ?

Dear Patient: Well a PET-CT is usually done to stage a cancer and to look for the various sites to which it has spread. The report in this case states that there are several nodes (lymphatic organ in the body) which shows signs of distant spread, also called metastasis. The regions are in the neck, chest and axilla. The hyper metabolic area in the right lung is the likely site of primary cancer (cancer of lung). Hope this was of help.
