Zinc (Zn) is a transition metal that belongs to group 12 of the periodic table. Zinc is of great use and as an "essential trace element" zinc has considerable biological importance for plants and animals. Zinc is the component that is responsible for many different functions in the human body and it supports stimulation activity of 100 different enzymes. It is very essential and if you only consume a little portion of zinc everyday it is enough to get lot of health benefits. Currently, the "Recommended Dietary Allowance" (RDA) for zinc in the U.S. is: 8 mg/day for women and 11 mg/day for men.

The benefits of zinc are numerous and it helps men and women in many ways. The dosage and effects of zinc for men and women are different.
