The Institute of Medical Sciences (IMS) and Sum Hospital is the medical school of the Siksha O Anusandhan University situated in Bhubaneswar. It provides undergraduate courses in medicine and dentistry, as well as postgraduate courses in non-clinical departments, and now it has started providing post graduation in clinical subjects like surgery and anesthesia.
The IMS & Sum Hospital was the dream project of visionary educationalist Prof (Dr) Manojranjan Nayak in the year 2003. The institute and the hospital are located on area of over 25 acres. The hospital, which is located in the Kalinga Nagar area of Bubaneshwar, offers 1200 beds and an intensive care unit that is the largest in Odisha. The hospital is equipped with ultra modern facilities that are put to use through sophisticated technology.
The IMS & Sum Hospital has been awarded the NABH accreditation that is a proof of the Institute's achievement in professional and ethical care in June 2013. All the services in the hospital, including Super specialty services, are provided at affordable prices.
