Patanjali defines Yoga as a state in which there is complete elimination of thoughts (Chitta Vritti Nirodhaha) and modification of the mind. He introduces Ashtanga Yoga (the eight-fold path: Yama, Niyama, Asana, Pranayama, Pratyahara, Dharana, Dhyana & Samadhi).
They conduct Basic Course of one month duration at there main centre, viz., Patanjali Yoga Research Centre, Jafferkhan Colony, Near Planetarium, Kozhikode. The classes are for one hour daily (except on Saturdays and Sundays), three batches every day, commencing 6.30 AM, 10.30 AM and 5.30 PM. People of all ages irrespective of caste, religion, sex, can join the course. The Trust also arrange for instructors for taking classes in various places as per demand.They also arrange to send instructors for Yoga classes to schools, colleges and other institutions on request.
