“Our eyes are our windows to the world around”, and what if these eyes aren't taken proper care off. Most of us, give to our hectic and chaotic lifestyle, do not actually concentrate on our health, especially our eyes. We tend to overlook the fact that almost 80% of our work is done with the help of our vision. Every single thing that has to be done has to be seen first (like reading, writing, typing or any other work) and only then can we analyse it and get a head with it. Today in this write-up we shall talk about some important tips that will not just help you take care of your eyes but also help avoid any eye related issues in the future:


Eat For Your Eyes :

Have you ever heard that your vision depends on the food you eat? Yes, it's the fact. The food thats on your plate plays a major role in maintaining a good and healthy eye. Studies has proved that food rich in Vitamin A, C, E, Omega 3 fatty acids, zinc and lutein helps in keeping vision related issues at bay.


Including The Following Food in Your Daily Diet May Be Help in The Long Run:

  • Green leafy vegetables like kale, collards, spinach etc are good for your eyes
  • Oil fishes like tuna, salmon etc
  • Have fruits rich in citrus like oranges, sweet lime etc
  • Protein rich food like nuts, eggs, beans etc

Use Sunglasses/Lenses When Out :

Overexposure to sun rays also leads to eye problems like muscular degeneration and cataracts. Choose Sunglasses that gives protection from both UVA and UVB rays. You could also choose to wear lenses that protects the eyes from the harmful UV rays. As far as possible keep your eyes from getting exposed to the suns rays directly.


Use Prescribed Glasses/Lenses While Using Computer :

While its a fact that most of the work today is done on computer, it becomes all the more important that we take proper care of our eyes in such scenario. Use the prescribed glasses or lens while working on the computer. Use anti glares for better vision. Place the monitor at a distance and do not get too close to the system. Give a break to your eyes at regular intervals. Do not switch off the lights while working on the computer. Use proper lighting to avoid any sort of blurry vision, eye strain, eye irritation etc.


Quit Smoking :

Did you know that smokers are 90% more prone to macular degeneration, cataract and optic nerve damage, than non-smokers? Studies have proved that those who have quit smoking have better vision. So if you have tried to quit smoking but were unable to, then its time you try again and you never know you might succeed this time.


Apart From These You Can Also :

  • Keep away from watching TV for a longer duration
  • Keep your eyes moist
  • Visit the doctor and get your eyes checked at least once a year
  • Do not use any cheap products on your eyes
  • Replace any eye product every 3 months
